Book Store

Our Used Book Store is located next to Middletown Thrall Library, at 11-19 Depot Street, Middletown, NY 10940.

UPDATE (Sept. 23, 2020):  We are hoping to reopen on or after December 1, 2020!  This tentative date is subject to change.  Please check back.

Until further notice, during the COVID-19 Crisis, our bookstore will remain closed.

Concerning Donations:

Normally, we accept donations of books during the posted business hours at the store, but we are currently unable to do so, until further notice, due to COVID-19.

Once we are open again, you can call the Used Book Store at (845) 344-1255 and speak with Bruce Swenson, Manager, or staff on duty about donating large quantities of books.

Our Regular Hours (suspended until further notice due to COVID-19):

  • Tuesdays: 12 – 5 PM
  • Wednesdays: 12 – 5 PM
  • Saturdays: 10 AM – 4 PM

Openings at other hours may be arranged by appointment.

Our Used Book Store, run completely by volunteers, offers a vast selection of donated paperback and hard cover classics, mysteries, science fiction, romance, history, philosophy, law, psychology, cooking, children’s literature, biographies, and much more, including many titles no longer in print.

Our store also offers a continuous variety of magazines, CDs, DVDs / Blu-rays, VHS tapes, music cassettes, audiobooks, and vinyl records.

Donations of fresh materials arrive weekly, and we are grateful for them!

Please consider visiting us whenever you have some free time.

After coming to our store, you might also want to visit our beautiful library (formerly the Erie Railroad Station) right next door to us.  There you can discover a vast array of resources and services.  Perhaps you might even inquire about the possibility of getting a library card!
